CONTRIBUTORS
MANYA M. MOOYA is Professor and currently Head of Department
of CEM, and is to be found mostly on the fifth floor of the Snape
Building and, frequently, due to digital nomads and semigration, on
the M3 to the South. He likes to farm Brahman cattle, both literally
and figuratively, on the Kafue Plains of Southern Zambia.
ZADA HANMER is a freelance writer living and working in
Johannesburg. Her art writing has been published by ArtThrob,
Frieze, and the Mail & Guardian. In her free time she enjoys rock
climbing, hiking, ballet, and flamenco. She also played soccer
for many years. She is currently completing her MA in Creative
Writing at UCT.
BWANGA KAPUMPA is a fiction and creative nonfiction writer. His
short stories have been published by the Caine Prize for African
Writing and Afritondo Short Story Prize, among others, and he
has been shortlisted for the Miles Morland Foundation scholarship
twice. He also works as a conceptual artist, and his installations
have been shown in Livingstone, Zambia, as well as the 13th Berlin
Biennale in Germany. Bwanga is currently pursuing a Master’s in
Creative Writing at the University of Cape Town and hopes to
inspire more African writers. He hails from Lusaka, Zambia.
GABRIEL MATTHEWS is a writer based in Cape Town. He is
a graduate student working towards a Masters through the
Creative Writing Programme. Outside of writing, Gabriel is
interested in philosophy, film, the natural world, and rock climbing.
His work explores the tension between human consciousness and
contemporary life. He is currently working on his first novel.
ANTHEA WILLIAMS is the Department Manager of CEM, where
she expertly juggles drafting processes and HR contracts like
a pro! When she’s not busy in the office, you’ll find her basking
in the joyful chaos of her grandkids or binge-watching her latest
favourite series.
